During the coronavirus craziness of 2020, many people dealt with quarantine by planting some amazing gardens. Me? I put up a trellis in the backyard (from IBEX Growing Systems) and grew hops! Six varieties of them. With regular tending and irrigation, they grew quite well and produced an ample harvest.
So what is one to do with hops? Brew beer, of course!
The Creekwood Hops Project is a series of moderately hopped wheat beers. All have been brewed using the same recipe, but each beer uses one of the six different hop varieties I grew:
- Cascade
- Comet
- Magnum
- Mt. Rainier
- Nugget
- Tahoma
The result is an interesting 6-pack of beers where you can taste the subtle differences between each of the hops.
